RBS and Hydrology Baseline Assessment for Africa Oil Ethiopia

A rapid biodiversity assessment was made on July 2017 by TS Environment at sites G1, G2 and A2 of the African Oil Ethiopia (AOE) project site around Lake Abaya. The assessment was done with the aid of aerial reconnaissance with ground survey crew for ground-truthing. The Main activities of the proposed RBS and Hydrology Baseline Assessment Included;

  • To assess  some biodiversity attributes and ecosystem services of the project sites A2, G1-G2 and determine any potential risks and impacts that drilling operation may have on ecosystem structure and services;
  • To observe the human settlement and bio-physical characteristics of the project sites from the air and on ground and assess natural, modified and critical habitats; and
  • To point out possible issues for scoping and ESIA.
